I got this as an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.<\/p>\n

Before coming in contact with this book, I had seen a few tweets from the popular Brooding YA Hero account, but I wasn\u2019t actively following it. I did, however have a pretty clear idea of what this book would be and the style it would be written in since I \u201cknew\u201d Broody from before.<\/p>\n

This book is written from the POV of Broody, who is basically the male main character of every young adult book out there.\u00a0 Unfortunately for Broody, authors are currently not picking him to be the main character in their story, so he decides to write his own book instead. I mean why not? He\u2019s the hottest, most talented genius out there.<\/p>\n

The book is written with humor and sass, and it deals with important topics and it puts the light on common things that YA fiction portrays these days. In short this is a book that will inform you of everything that you shouldn\u2019t do when writing a YA book, and it does it in a fun way that not only makes you remember it, but also not feel lectured.<\/p>\n

The main problem with this whole book though is at the same time the humorous writing style. It\u2019s gets hard to read a whole book from Broody\u2019s POV, especially the beginning was nearly impossible for me to get in to. It\u2019s like reading page after page of funny tweets. I think this might be a book that you read in sections over a long period of time, not something you read in one sitting.<\/p>\n

But if you\u2019re a writer or a fan of YA, don\u2019t hesitate to pick this up, you\u2019re in for a fun read.<\/p>\n
